NEW TITLE SPONSOR RAISES SUMMIT MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE SERIES' PROFILE

Leisure Wheels in Hemel Hempstead is the new title sponsor of the 2008 Summit Racing Summer Series.

The five-round championship run between May and September in Lotts Wood, near Hyde Heath, Amersham is going from strength to strength and the signing of a new title sponsor will further enhance the popular cross country race series.

Leisure Wheels will assist growth by publicising its series to customers significantly widening the scope of Summit Racing to attract riders from the Bucks/Herts border area.

"Our riders have enjoyed racing in Summit's series over the past three years and Leisure Wheels is keen to support local cycling initiatives, commented shop owner Dan Busson."We will be branding the event and telling our mountain bike customers to come along and take part."

Leisure Wheels is based on Hemel Hempstead High Street in the picturesque old quarter of the town and is a dealer for quality brands such as Specialized, GT and Mongoose plus mouth-watering high-end bikes such as Marin, Norco, Santa Cruz, Whyte and Wilier.

It is an official Shimano Service Centre and also caters for BMX, road plus touring and leisure cycling. It carries an extensive stock of accessories and an impressive array of clothing and shoes. It has a comprehensive on-line store at www.leisurewheels.co.uk

The Mountain Bike Sport Association-sanctioned series will be run for the usual XC racing adult categories and again have five rounds in 2008, held on the following provisional dates (all Wednesday evenings with racing starting at 19h30):

14th May; 11th June; 16th July; 20th August; 10th September (night race)

The highly successful Summit Racing Festival will return on Sunday, 12th October whilst an all-new kids-only Festival is being planned for July.

WORKSHOP

The shop has a fully equipped SHIMANO accredited and ROCKSHOX qualified workshop. We have qualified mechanics (still a rarity in the cycle industry) who have City&Guilds cycle mechanics qualifications and have taken Rockshox training courses. Mechanics will soon also be qualified to the stringent CYTEC advanced level required for Shimano Service Centre status.

Details of the benefits of using SHIMANO and ROCKSHOX service centres in the relevant sections.

Our workshop has 3 permanent workstands and all those strange workshop only tools that can rescue otherwise dead bikes.

Bikes, like most mechanical items need periodic servicing to keep them running sweetly. As many of the parts are open to the elements and subject to high levels of mechanical abuse, servicing should be carried out at regular intervals. We have three levels of service depending on your requirements and budget! We can also sort out problems individually on your bike as and when required such as wheel truing or gear/brake adjustments.
